If you have to live anywhere in Alabama, you get lucky if you end up in Huntsville. It's a beautiful town full of nature parks and two hundred year old buildings. You get even luckier if your dad's a rich doctor and buy's you a house with a view of the entire city. It really makes you appreciate the area you live. That is of course right before a zoobat crashes through your window, shrieking in terror and giving you a cave phobia for the rest of your childhood.
But that isn't the point.
The point is that if I had to pick one place to start my pokemon journey, I would chose Huntsville, Alabama any day of the week.
Heck, my old(and I mean old) friend Professor Washington gave me the best buddy I could've hoped for in this epic quest that must ultimately end in hilarious shenanigans:
Syntax the Elgyem. Probably the coolest mofo of a starter anyone could ever get. The Professor offered him to me, and I took the rare cutie without a second thought. He is apparently able to talk to me via telepathy, and I think that's just freaking awesome. Then he pulled a Billy Mays on me and went "BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE" and offered me quite possibly the cutest Pidove I've ever met.
Look upon the face of cute and despair, for she is mine. Some jerk apparently abandoned her in the forest near the Doc's facility, and he trusted me to take care of her. It turns out that she's really strong, too. Easily my most powerful pokemon. She's a total cutie too. After the three of us(though Syntax was the only one out of his ball) passed through Oldtown, which was absolutely infested with Duskulls like usual, I decided to treat them both to a nice starbucks, hoping they'd love it as much as I would. It was here that I met the greatest Misdreavus ever.
This little baby had apparently been causing the Starbucks trouble for awhile now, stealing numerous coffees from off the shelf before their buyers could get them. I didn't know this, though, so offered to buy her a coffee. I told her to wait outside while I went to get her one, because I saw the guy up front giving her an evil eye. I played it cool and made my orders, learning about the situation through casual conversation that they were thinking of hiring a guard to keep her away. I knew this wouldn't end well for anyone, so when I got back to her, I explained the full situation. She didn't seem to have a concept of how commerce worked, and thus no concept of theft. I guess it was understandable, considering for an outside-looking-in standpoint it looked like "hey free coffee just sitting around." So to disarm the situation and get a lil' something-something for myself, I offered to take her with me on my journey and we could go to all kinds of different Starbucks together. I dubbed her Mocha and she joined my team as my second most powerful travelling partner.
Right now, I'm in Monte-Sano, where I just had my first battle with a trainer(who was a total try-hard bitch) and won! With who, you ask? With the newest addition to the D Club, of course! She's a Weedle Livy tried to eat, but ended up getting poisoned by. Livy managed to take the lil'Weedle out before that happened though. I didn't want to leave them in the open like that, what with all the flying pokemon about.
After Mocha and I healed them up at a tiny pokecenter manned by one of the cutest Audino I have ever seen(probably a result of the Nurse attire she had on.). Right now, I'm continuing down the paths laid before me, with my new Weedle(Who I've come to call Leedle) on my head and Mocha at my shoulder.
Nothing can ruin the good mood I have.
